Nasi Biru (Butterfly Pea Flowers Rice)
Rather known as Nasi Kerabu, Nasi Biru is a type of Malay dish commonly found in East Coast. Butterfly-pea flowers / bunga telang are used in the cooking to give the colour.
30 bunga telang biru (butterfly pea flowers)1/4cup water
4 cups rice
5 and ½ cup water
1 tbsp ginger shredded
3 lemongrass sticks
- Boil bunga telang biru with 1/4cup water for 1 minute. Discard the flowers and retain the extract.
- Wash the rice, then add in the blue extract water, shredded ginger and lemongrass sticks, cook together. Feel free to serve with any side dishes.
